All For One with Monroe Carrel Jr. Children's Hospital

On February 29, we will be offering a fun and energizing power yoga class at 1:30 p.m. to support our friends at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt

Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is dear to my family's heart. Our son, Lincoln suffered from a skull fracture during delivery in April. St. Thomas sent him to the Vanderbilt Children’s hospital’s Nicu because of the Neurology department which is one the best in the nation. After being there a few days, I realized the doctors and nurses were giving Lincoln special care and attention, and they were also taking good care of Chris and me. Every morning the team of doctors and nurses would recap and update us so we felt informed and aware of everything that was going on. Our time there was scary but also there were a lot of moments of pure joy watching Lincoln get stronger everyday. We left there 9 days later hopeful and with our baby who was healing, and recovering from a very rocky start as one of the doctors put it. While I would have chosen a different entry into life for Lincoln, I learned so much while I was there. The biggest thing I learned was how resilient children are and to trust. I trusted the doctors and nurses there with Lincoln’s life and I will always be grateful for the love and outstanding care they gave us all, and continue to do so today. 

I am so happy Shakti can help support The Children's hospitals efforts to provide each child with lifesaving care regardless of their ability to pay, and help support the lifesaving research they are doing to give the most innovative care for the children and their families.. 

Together, our studio and the Nashville fitness community are raising more money for the patients of Children’s Hospital than we ever could alone. Together, we could be the change that could save a life, the change that could find a cure, and the change that could give a child another tomorrow.
